Hey blog.
It’s been a minute.
This quarantine thing has really taken some getting used to and has also significantly ramped up the work load of us college students. I have had a hard time trying to find a balance and routine, which I still haven’t found but I’ve learned a few things that are helping me get through.
- Working out even just a small amount helps a lot. I go on at least one walk every day, even if its just a little half mile trek. I have also been enjoying some online classes. My favorite are with Blogilates and the Peloton app, which is offering a free 90-day subscription. The yoga classes are hard for a non-agile and out of shape person like myself, but they most definitely within anyones capabilities with help for making poses easier and more comfortable for varying levels of ability.
- Making lists of things to do. I make lists for school work and am currently on my “final run” list before hitting the end of the semester. It has helped me seeing everything that I need to do right in front of me and I always love being able to mark something off of a list. I also have a list for cleaning and organizing, which I don’t get too ahead on so I know I have something to do for more days and will have at least one daily task every day.
- Trying free trials. I have signed up for and am trying so many free trials. From Disney+, to Hulu, to Curology, and to Peloton. I have enjoyed most and will end up wasting a lot of money in the future either forgetting to end them or enjoying them for longer.
- Ordering stuff off Amazon. I have order a handful of items online and hate to admit how much joy it bring me to receive mail. I am limiting myself to not many more items because of my lack of income, but you gotta do what you gotta do to bring yourself some happiness, even it if is a short and fleeting one of receiving material gifts.
- Crafts. As y’all know, I love my crafts. I have been doing my fair share of making polymer clay earrings and working on crocheting my blanket that I don’t think will ever be done. I try my best to keep my attention on anything but the news (it can be tiring trying to keep up with everything and honestly a little harmful) and crafts definitely can help take up a big chunk of time!
Basically, everyone is different and finds joy in different things, but these are what have brought me slight joy, entertainment, and senses of motivation to get through the day and onto the next. I have taken recommendations from many different people and am always looking for other things to do!
